Now the question arises: What are the side-effects of Laser Therapy?

And irrespective of all the side-effects the most common side-effect that women worry about is if laser skin or hair procedures can increase risk of infertility for those women who are willing to or planning for babies.

Technically the lasers we use penetrate less than 1mm into the skin, and the laser beam only targets pigment not organs (ovaries or uterus).

According to some studies, cutaneous laser treatment during pregnancy is also safe for both mother and fetus. Laser physics and optics dictate that there should be theoretically no risk to fetal laser exposure from commonly used cutaneous lasers.

In fact, studies have proven that Low Level Laser Therapy is used for severe female infertility treatments, by improving blood circulation of ovaries.

There were studies to investigate the occurrence of side-effects and adverse events after the use of diode lasers. Reported side-effects are skin irritation, erythema, edema, post-operative hypersensitivity, burns manifested by blisters (this may be in some rare cases).

Less frequently described cases include scarring, purpura, folliculitis, cyanobacteria, pruritus, or urticaria.

There was no record of finding any case of infertility during the studies.

So temporary and minor side-effects can occur after the procedures, any claims about any side-effects to your long term health is unfounded and there should be no impact on infertility in the near or long term.

Overall, the effects of laser therapy on women planning for babies will depend on the specific treatment and area being targeted. It is recommended to consult with healthcare professionals who can provide personalized advice based on your specific situation and goals.
